What is private mediation?
A voluntary, confidential process where a neutral mediator helps two or more parties in conflict work together to reach agreement without going to court.
MEDIATION can preserve long term relationships and reach a solution where both parties have contributed to the resolution.
WHO MAKES THE FINAL DECISION?
The Mediators does not make a ruling or decision. The outcome is based on mutual agreement of the parties involved.
Does it have to be in person?
Mediation can be done in person or on Zoom.
HOw long is the process?
Each session is 1 - 1.5 hours. Depending on the complexity of the issue, a conflict can be resolved anywhere from 2-5 sessions.
Is it binding?
If both parties agree to sign a settlement agreement in writing, it is binding contract. Signing the agreement is voluntary and must be agreed to by both parties.
